Resource Type Templates (Resource Manager)

Resource Manager uses templates. Each template represents a specific resource type, and together they all form the template tree. Resource templates let you set the exact information you want to document about each type of resource. You can build your template tree from scratch, or use a predefined template tree.

note: If you had Asset Manager prior to Destiny 12.5 and created a textbook template, the upgrade to Destiny v12.5 renames the pre-existing template "Textbooks."

Important: If a district has any Destiny Textbook Manager installations, all textbook-related features are hidden in Resource Manager.

To work with resource templates:

Important: The Textbooks template has several options and rules that do not apply to other templates. Textbook templates cannot be deleted, moved, or duplicated. If you have the Complete Edition, you can create child templates, duplicate child templates, and move child templates within the Textbooks branch.

  1. Select Catalog > Add Resource > Edit Templates sub-tab.
  2. Do one of the following:
    If you want to…Then…

    Download and import a predefined resource template tree

    1. Scroll to the bottom of the page, and select Click here.
    2. Find the template you want to use, and then click Download.
    3. Click Save Target As…, and save the XML file to your computer. When the download is complete, close the download status to see the sample template tree.
    4. Click Import Template.
    5. Click Yes.
      Note: If your district has any existing resource templates, completing the import will delete them. Follett recommends not importing a resource template tree if your district already has one.
    6. Click Choose File to select the file you downloaded.
    1. Click Import. The Job Manager appears.
    2. When the import is complete, click View to preview the import.
    3. To return to your newly imported resource template tree, click the Edit Resource Type Template breadcrumb.

    Add a template

    Click Add Template icon..

    Click Edit icon..

    Delete a template

    Click Delete icon..

    Create a digital signature agreement

    Click Setup Agreements.

    Create a resource group

    Click Template Groups.

    Create or update funding sources or Dropdown Lists

    Click Update Lists.

    Move resource templates

    Click Move Templates.

    Import templates

    1. Click Import Templates.
    2. Click Browse to find and select your template file, and then click Import.

    Note: Importing a template does not overwrite the default Textbooks template. Also, the import automatically creates all permanent fields in the Textbooks template. The Textbooks template is included when you export a resource type template.

    Export templates

    Click Export Templates. The Job Manager appears.
